The pit stop shall not commence with less than 3 minutes prior to the checker. Failure to make the required 2 minute pit stop may result in a time or lap penalty or possible disqualification.
7.2 Timing the pit stop will be determined through these 2 methods:
Method 1
Use the timing charts for the race as provided by timing and scoring to determine the fastest lap times for competitors. By adding 2 minutes plus the time required to traverse pit lane at 40 MPH to this fastest lap time, a total pit stop time shall be determined for each entry. Lap charts shall then be checked to confirm that each competitor did have a total lap time equal to or greater than the previously determined lap time.
Method 2
A log will be maintained to show the time and car number of all cars entering and exiting pit lane during the event. A study of the log shall show that all cars having entered and exited pit lane in a total time equal to or greater than 2 minutes plus the time required to traverse pit lane at 40 MPH.
7.3 Any non-compliance found by these methods will be reported to the Chief Steward and Series Committee for action.
7.4 Computation of the 40 MPH pit lane speed limit is as follows:

VIR 12 seconds @ 40 MPH
Charlotte 22 seconds @ 40 MPH
Roebling 19 seconds @ 40 MPH
Rockingham TBA
7.5 NO pit stops will be allowed during a full course yellow. Any car that is in the process of their mandatory pit stop when a full course yellow is displayed will be allowed to continue with the pit stop and re-enter the track at the proper time.

IT-7R class proposed rules for Mazda RX7s model year 1979 through 1985 with a Mazda Renesis replacement engine block assembly.
Purpose and intent of IT-7R proposed class
Due to 1979-1985 12A engine parts being obsolete and no longer available, a replacement engine block is necessary to continue the first generation in competition. As IT-7 engines fail and no new replacement parts are available, IT-7R will give those competitors a place to move to that is economical and easy to convert. The installation kits are designed to be very user friendly and the conversion can be accomplished using common hand tools by any one with basic mechanical skills. Only the engine block replacement is addressed in this proposal. Everything else remains the same as ITA/IT-7. The engine HP is not expected to be much more than the original 12A engine, and lap times should be comparable to the current IT-7 car. This will be accomplished by use of an intake adaptor that only utilizes the low horsepower bottom 4 intake ports in the Renesis engine. This will also make the available Renesis engines greater because you can chose either the low HP 4 port Renesis or the high power 6 port Renesis that will not utilize the additional porting. The original 12A Nikki carburetor will remain and will also limit potential HP. The original RX-7 front cover including the original RX-7 distributor is retained. Also the RX-7 original water pump is retained. All cooling and fuel systems that are already in place will still work with this conversion. The under hood appearance will remain virtually the same. A stock stainless steel RX-8 exhaust manifold will be used to keep conversion cost down. Since performance has intentionally be kept to a minimum there is no need to increase the brake rules. They are adequate as written. No required spec tire. Any current GCR legal ITA tire. By utilizing a specific official installation kit all conversions will be consistent and all conversions can be accomplished with basic mechanical tools and knowledge.
This proposed IT-7R class must comply with and be prepared to the 1979 through 1985 Mazda RX-7 ITA rules as published by the current SCCA GCR and Category Specifications with the following additions/changes.
Must use any 13B RX8 Renesis engine block assembly
Stock RX-8 header must be used
Installation conversion shall be facilitated by use of official installation kit (part number not available yet)
Official installation kits will be nationally available and distributed (upon rule set approval)
Installation kits will consist of:
12A intake to Renesis adapter
12A water pump and 12A front cover adapter
Eccentric shaft pulley
12A style flywheel
Front motor mount adaptors (designed to be bolted with supplied hardware, or welded in place)
All necessary hardware and gaskets
Pictorial step by step installation hand book
(possible) step by step installation video
